Legacy

Our Story

This little haven was created in memory of Amanda and Bertus van Rooyen - two gentle souls who believed a house becomes a home through warmth, hospitality and the small things that matters most. Amanda had an eye for elegance a heart full of care. Every piece of antique furniture, every cushion and curtain, reflects her timeless taste and homemaking pride. Bertus, ever the steady hand and quiet strength, fills these walls with a sense of piece, of roots, of enduring presence.

The name Amber & Birch is inspired by them - amber for the golden warmth they shared, and birch for the graceful streng of their legacy.

Whether you've come to Dullstroom for fly-fishing, fireplace evenings, or to lose yourself in the mist, this cottage is here to offer you rest, reflection, and a touch of something real. You're not just booking a stay - you're stepping into a story.
